Hockey Basics Class - 4:45-5:15pm lesson time/ 4:15-4:45pm practice time
The Learn to Skate USA Hockey Basics curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. In four levels (hockey basics 1-4), skaters will learn how to be more proficient and agile on the ice. Proper skating techniques for the game of hockey are the primary focus of the levels. All elements will be taught without a puck or stick. Skaters will learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, use of edges and other necessary fundamentals to be successful in hockey practices and game situations in the future.
Please wear hockey skates & HECC Approved Hockey Helmet to class.
If this is the skater's First 6-week session of the season (Season is defined as Sept 9 - Dec 2), please fill out the Learn to Skate USA Membership Form online HERE and include the once yearly fee of $16. After paying for your membership, you will be given a Membership ID#, please keep this number as you will need to enter it in the following Learn-to-Skate Registration form.
Skate Rentals: If you choose the option to include skate rentals, this will include all skate rentals for the entire Session. Skate rentals are $3/per class or $18/per session.
Individual Class Skate Rentals are always available to be purchased at the Rink.
